Now we have only Group 2. Here, DO and HAVE act as main verbs.
They themselves are main verbs, they are not helping another main verb.
eg. I have a car.
I do homework.
I play tennis.

Basic Formula here is, we break up the single verb into DO+ infinitive.
plays = DOES + play
play = DO + play
played = DID + play

eg. We go to the party. ==> We do not go to the party.
I play football. ==> I do not play football.

eg. She likes food. ==> She does not like food.
Jane plays the guitar. ==> Jane does not play the guitar.

eg. We went to the party. ==> We did not go to the party.
I played football. ==> I did not play football.
She cooked food. ==> She did not cook food.

Present Tense Examples:
I work. I do not work.
They win the game. They do not win the game.
She cries every night. She does not cry every night.

Past Tense Examples:
I worked. I did not work.
They won the game. They did not win the game.
She cried last night. She did not cry last night.
